Taevion Kinsey
FA
Shooting Guard
#15
According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the Jazz will waive Taevion Kinsey.
A little over one month after the Jazz signed Kinsey to a two-way contract, the team will reportedly waive him. Undrafted out of Marshall, the 6-foot-5 guard spent most of last season with Utah’s G League affiliate, agreeing to a 10-day deal with the Jazz in early March. Kinsey’s exit frees up a two-way slot for Utah, with Jason Preston and Micah Potter occupying two spots.
Alex Fudge
FA
Small Forward
#3
The Mavericks announced on Thursday that they have waived Alex Fudge.
The decision to waive Fudge leaves Dallas with two two-way contract recipients, Brandon Williams and the recently signed Kessler Edwards. Waived by the Lakers in early January, Fudge signed a two-way deal with the Mavericks in early March and did not factor into the team’s rotation. He’ll look to catch on with another NBA team.
Gordon Hayward
FA
Small Forward
#33
Gordon Hayward, 34, announced Thursday that his playing career is officially coming to a close after 14 NBA seasons.
Hayward resurrected his career with the Charlotte Hornets after suffering a career-threatening leg injury with the Boston Celtics, but ultimately hasn’t been able to stay healthy enough to stay on the court in recent years. He thrived as an elite fantasy option at small forward during his prime and peaked in 2016-17 when he averaged 21.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists during his final season with the Utah Jazz.
Bruno Fernando
FA
Center
#24
According to a report from The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Atlanta is waiving Bruno Fernando.
Fernando averaged 6.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assist through 45 games with Atlanta last season. The reserve big man posted solid stats in his pair of spot starts but shouldn’t be depended on as a legitimate season-long fantasy option.
Jordan Ford
FA
Point Guard
#31
Jordan Ford has agreed to a deal with Aquila Basket Trento of Italy.
Ford, who spent last season with the Kings on a two-way contract, is headed to Italy to continue his professional career. This move will not impact fantasy basketball since he played as an unrestricted free agent in the NBA 2K25 Summer League.
Zyon Pullin
FA
Point Guard
The Heat have waived Zyon Pullin.
Signed to a two-way contract immediately after the conclusion of last month’s draft, Pullin averaged 5.3 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 11.9 minutes during Miami’s run to the NBA 2K25 Summer League title. Pullin was waived due to the Heat’s need to free up a two-way contract for Josh Christopher, MVP of the championship game.
Orlando Robinson
FA
Center
#25
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Orlando Robinson has agreed to a one-year deal with Sacramento.
O-Ro averaged 11.1 minutes across 67 appearances through two seasons with Miami. He’s not expected to play a big role for his new team and is off the fantasy radar.
Alondes Williams
FA
Shooting Guard
#15
Alondes Williams finished Monday’s 120-118 overtime win over Memphis with 21 points (8-of-16 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, six assists, one steal, and four 3-pointers in 37 minutes.
Williams, who produced the dunk of the NBA 2K25 Summer League last week, capped his time in Las Vegas with another solid showing in Monday’s championship game. And the timing was great, as he is an unrestricted free agent, and Miami has filled all three of its slots. One of the three slots is occupied by guard Dru Smith, who suffered a season-ending knee injury last November. While the Heat remain high on Smith, it’s fair to wonder if Williams’ performance in Las Vegas has kept him in the conversation. At a minimum, he may have earned an opportunity with another team once training camp rolls around.
Josh Christopher
FA
Shooting Guard
#13
Josh Christopher played 31 minutes in Monday’s 120-118 overtime win over the Grizzlies, amassing 24 points (9-of-17 FGs), four rebounds, one assist, three steals, two blocks, and six 3-pointers.
Christopher’s experience in Las Vegas was what unrestricted free agents hope for every summer. The 2021 first-round pick made big plays throughout Miami’s run to the championship, and he was impactful on both ends of the floor on Monday. In addition to shooting 6-of-10 from three, Christopher racked up five “stocks,” earning championship game MVP honors. The last two weeks could go a long way toward ensuring he gets a shot in training camp, whether with the Heat or another organization.
Sasha Vezenkov
FA
Power Forward
#7
The Raptors and Sasha Vezenkov have agreed to a contract buyout.
Vezenkov spent his first NBA season in Sacramento before he (along with Davion Mitchell and the 45th overall pick in last month’s draft) was traded to the Raptors on June 27. It was reported that Vezenkov was looking to return to Europe, specifically Olympiacos in Greece. Monday’s agreement, with the former Kings forward leaving more than $6.5 million on the table, frees him to sign with a team overseas.
