  • LAD Starting Pitcher #31
Roberts didn’t cite any sort of medical concern, it sounds like the Dodgers are just shuffling their rotation a bit with the injury to River Ryan and the return of Walker Buehler on Wednesday. For the time being, fantasy managers shouldn’t be concerned about Glasnow’s start moving back a day, but it is a situation worth monitoring. It sounds like Justin Wrobleski may be recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start in his spot on Friday.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #21
The 30-year-old hurler will make his triumphant return to the Dodgers’ rotation on Wednesday evening against the Brewers. Buehler has been sidelined since the middle of June due to a hip ailment — and then took some time away from the team to work on his mechanics, before returning in early August. He looked sharp in his latest minor league rehab start though, so fantasy managers can be hopeful that the Buehler they see on Wednesday is the vintage version rather than the guy who pitched to a 5.84 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over 37 innings in his first eight starts.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #96
As anticipated, with Walker Buehler returning from the injured list to join the Dodgers’ rotation on Wednesday, there simply was no longer room for Knack on the active roster. The 27-year-old hurler will head back to Triple-A where he’ll start every fifth day until the Dodgers need him once again.
  • LAD Designated Hitter #17
Ohtani hit his 37th homer of the season on Tuesday to give the Dodgers a 2-0 lead in the third inning. The two-time MVP entered the day hitting just .190 in the month of August but now has four homers and 10 RBI to his name over the same span. He’ll bounce out of this slump in short order, but at least the power remains intact even if the hits aren’t coming with as high a frequency.
  • LAD Catcher #16
Smith put the Dodgers on the board in the second inning when he hit a 412-foot shot off Brewers starter Colin Rea into the left-field stands. It was the 15th homer of the season for Smith, who now has his first homer in August after last homering on July 6. He drove in only one run on the evening but enjoyed a nice surge at the plate — something he was desperately in need of after his slow start to the month.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #35
Stone gave up a solo shot to catcher William Contreras in the bottom of the third inning, but was otherwise solid in this one. Despite two of the three hits he allowed going for extra bases, Stone was able to limit the offensive output by the Brewers while the Dodgers bats piled on starter Colin Rea. Stone now has 10 wins on the season and is sitting on a solid 3.63 ERA. His next start is scheduled for Sunday against the Cardinals.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #18
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Yamamoto will travel to join the club later this week before facing hitters on Friday in a two-inning simulated game. The 25-year-old right-hander’s return would provide a significant boost for Los Angeles’ injury-plagued starting rotation mix. He’s been on the shelf since mid-June recovering from a rotator cuff strain.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #77
It’s not a huge surprise, but it is still disappointing. It was already announced that Ryan would miss the remainder of the 2024 season, and this operation likely means that we won’t see Ryan for much — if at all — of the 2025 campaign. Ryan has considerable upside and still could be a long-term play for 2026 and beyond, but unfortunately we won’t see that talented right arm in action for at least a year, if not more.
  • LAD Designated Hitter #17
Ohtani is approaching a 40/40 season rapidly, as he hit a two-run shot off Freddy Peralta for his 36th homer, and he stole his 33rd base in the process. The two-way star also walked and came around to score a run on a Mookie Betts homer. Ohtani is the overwhelming favorite to win MVP, and you just need to look at those numbers to see why. Also this one: .298/.386/.621 is his season slash.
  • LAD Right Fielder #50
Welcome back, Mookie. Betts didn’t show any rust after missing eight weeks with his broken hand, and smashed a two-run homer off Freddy Peralta in the third inning. The 31-year-old also drive in a run with an RBI-single in the seventh. The steal was the 10th of the season, and the homer the 11th. Betts was enjoying a strong 2024 campaign before the injury, and there’s every reason to believe he’ll be outstanding for the final six weeks.
